Genesis Motion Solutions, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is searching for a Machinist to join our Machine Shop Team. You will work with a collaborative team of highly skilled machinists working on state-of-the-art CNC machinery as we build components that support our internal prototyping activities.

What You Will Do

• Operate manual machines (e.g. lathe, drill-press, hand-tools, band-saw, calipers, micro height gauge, bore Micrometers and regular micrometers).
• Inspect parts to ensure conformance to specification and drawing tolerances.
• Confidently and carefully load machines with material.
• Collaborate with the machine shop team on the execution of day-to-day work-orders.
• Support the operation of our 5-axis milling environment.
• Interact regularly with our in-house team of engineers as designs are optimized prior to machining. This includes collaboration with the engineering team post-manufacturing in order to better understand design limitations as they pertain to the manufacturing process.
• Ensure machines are cleaned and maintained properly according to the manufacturers standards as well as company standards.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Manual and CNC machining experience.
• 3rd year machinist apprentice minimum.

What Will Put You Ahead

• 3+ years of experience in a machine shop is preferred.
• 3rd and 4th year apprentices will be considered.
• Eager to learn and develop your skills.
• Strong mechanical and computer aptitude.
• Strong communication skills and fluent in both oral and written English.
• Experience using CAD/CAM software.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of excellence.
• Proven ability to always follow company safety policies as a top priority.
• Desire to collaborate, with an active pursuit of new ideas, perspectives, and ways of getting the job done.
