Job Description

Flint is looking for Machinists to work out of their Fort McMurray Machine Shop. Machinists will report to our Machine Shop Superintendent and are responsible for completing various jobs. These permanent full-time positions in Fort McMurray can accommodate different schedules and availability.

What would you be doing?

• Interpreting blueprints and manufacturing to drawing and tolerance specifications.
• Running and maintaining a variety of equipment such as conventional lathe and mill, grinders, and portable machining equipment.
• Line boring, flange facing, cold cutting.
• Layout, measure and mark materials to display placement of cuts.
• Other field machining applications as required.

Does this sound like you?

• Ability to work in field conditions.
• Line boring experience.
• Experience estimating and measuring sizes and lengths accurately.
• Proficient on both conventional lathe and mill.
• Have your CSO certification or willing to obtain.
• Machinist Journeyperson/Apprentice certificate.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication required.
• Physically capable of performing all necessary duties of the job including but not limited to heavy pulling, pushing and lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing, shoveling, bending, twisting, etc.
