We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment, including CNC lathes and milling machines. This role requires proficiency in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and precision measurement to produce high-quality components. The Machinist will play a vital role in ensuring manufacturing processes meet strict quality standards and specifications using advanced tools and techniques.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and CNC milling machines, primarily with Fanuc controls
Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM programming software to optimize machining processes
Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings to ensure accurate production
Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions
Perform electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes when required for complex part fabrication
Utilize hand tools, power tools, tooling, and welding equipment for assembly or finishing tasks
Maintain proper documentation of machining processes and quality checks
Adhere to safety protocols related to plastics injection molding, welding, and other manufacturing operations
Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role with knowledge of CNC programming (Fanuc preferred)
Strong understanding of GD&T principles, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawings
Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks and general CAM programming skills
Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), bore gauges, bore measurement tools, and precision measuring instruments
Familiarity with CNC lathe and CNC milling machine operations in a manufacturing environment
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
Mechanical knowledge related to plastics injection molding, assembly processes, welding, and tooling setup
Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during machining processes
Ability to operate forklifts safely when required for material handling
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and quality standards
