What You'll Do
Set up and operate
large manual vertical and horizontal boring mills
for custom and repair machining.
Read and interpret
engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
to determine machining requirements.
Machine precision components including housings, bearing shells, bearing seals, pump cases, and turbine components.
Verify dimensions using micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and other precision tools.
Collaborate with foremen and engineers to ensure quality and efficiency.
Perform basic machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized.
Assist in machining setups for other manual machines when required (e.g., lathes, mills).
What We're Looking For
?
Journeyperson Machinist Certification
(or equivalent experience).
?
5+ years of experience
operating
manual vertical or horizontal boring mills
? Strong understanding of machining tolerances, alignment, and setup on large workpieces.
? Ability to work independently and troubleshoot setup or tooling challenges.
? Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
