Machinist
Job Description
We are a rapidly growing machine shop in the Durham region, offering a great career opportunity for a machinist to join our team.
JOB DUTIES: - Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models and specifications to determine machining, fabrication and mechanical requirements.
- Plan, lay out, measure and mark sheet metal and mechanical components according to engineering standards and drawings.
- Prepare patterns or templates to simplify fabrication and installation processes.
- Conduct measurements, inspections and tolerance checks to verify dimensional accuracy and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Create, modify and optimize CNC programs for machining and fabrication processes; select tools, cutting parameters and verify program accuracy.
- Operate and set up laser cutting machines, adjust cutting parameters, perform nesting and verify that components meet required tolerances.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.50-$36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
