Maibec CanExel is currently seeking Machine Operator/Labourers to join a dynamic team located in East River, Nova Scotia - an easy 30-minute commute from either Bayers Lake or Bridgewater.

JOB PURPOSE:

Safely maximize production of quality products in an efficient manner by assisting in operating and monitoring equipment and maintaining a clean work area.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

$22.12/hr to start Once trained and signed off of a specific job, will earn the rate of pay for that job (pay ranges from $22.12-$25.84 in first year, $24.28-$29.24 in second year, $ 27.65-$33.24 after two years of service) Shift differential on the 7:30pm-7:30am shift of $1.35/hr Benefits include: medical insurance, dental insurance, STD, LTD, pension, Life insurance, EFAP

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide relief in operations jobs for breaks, vacations or other absences Operate equipment Perform fire watch duties General cleaning Equipment cleaning Sorting product Actively participate in EHS Programs Maintain housekeeping of the assigned areas Participating in improvement projects Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Good problem-solving ability Time management skills Forklift and/or heavy equipment experience is an asset Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations Demonstrated mechanical ability Willing to be trained to perform various operations positions Willing to work various shifts as scheduled on a weekly basis and be available for additional work as the need arises.
