Job Description

BOMImed Inc., a Winnipeg based, medical device manufacturer and distributor of airway management, anesthesia, critical care, warming therapy and diagnostic devices, is looking for another Machine Operator to join our growing Manufacturing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating manufacturing and production line equipment, as well as performing routine repairs and maintenance on equipment used in the manufacturing and assembly areas to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

The hours for this position will be Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm.

Duties & Responsibilities

Operate, maintain and repair manufacturing and production line equipment (automation, corrugation/extrusion, injection molding and other peripheral equipment) and production equipment (baggers, conveyor belt and peripheral equipment) Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on all production and manufacturing equipment Participate in the validation and implementation of machine maintenance standard operating procedures Work with Operations, Engineering and Quality teams in the design, development and validation of new products and improvements in manufacturing methods Involvement in planning and installation of future equipment Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as overhead cranes, chain hoist, jacks, fork life, etc. to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery Coordinate with external suppliers to source new equipment, replacement parts and custom components Maintain industry best practices to ensure a safe working environment Ensure BOMImed's product quality standards are met Perform other related duties as assigned

Skills Required

Good verbal communication skills Ability to operate all hand tools, power tools and automated machinery Strong practical "hands on" skills and mechanical/electrical aptitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent attention to detail, maintaining high quality workmanship Demonstrate strong time management, organization and prioritizing ability Capable of lifting 50 LBS

Education & Experience

1 - 5 years experience as a machine operator Manufacturing Technician certification or equivalent experience Machine and maintenance experience Experience with plastics (injection molding, automation, extrusion) is an asset

AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
