POSITION: GENERAL OPERATOR, TOR

This is the Role:

The General Operator reports directly to the Production Supervisor. It is the responsibility of the General Operator to operate equipment in an effective and efficient manner according to company standards, specifications and policies. To produce quality mineral wool products within the Company\xe2\x80\x99s parameters of quality, material efficiency, and time efficiency. Maintain a clean, safe and efficient workplace without jeopardizing product quality or the environment. This position is based in our facility in Milton, ON.

Main job responsibilities:

• Reports the quantity of the created/rejected deficiencies dependent on the cause of its creation
• Segregates waste according to the current instructions
• Reporting to the supervisor all the irregularities related to the work of subordinate devices
• In cooperation with Maintenance Department, ensures the proper functioning of equipment and quick and safe removal of failures and machinery problems
• Informs Supervisor and relevant shifts of any problem or tasks in need of attention
• Plans product changes to have the least amount of stress put on the equipment as possible
• Communicates any unusual conditions, equipment breakdowns, needs for repair, reasons for increase or decrease of production etc. to cross shift operator
• Completes shutdown tasks according to shut down procedures or checklist

This is what you offer:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in machine set-up and computers
• Must have a good understanding in how equipment operates in order to clear equipment safely
• Good understanding of H+S requirements and works in a safe manner
• Forklift experience/certification
• Self-motivated with the drive, commitment and high energy to motivate others
• Good people skills
• The ability to read and understand written instructions and product specifications
