Job Description

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.\xe2\x80\x8bProcessing Operator will be responsible for the operation and sanitation of the plant from the PEF to the Sorters. This includes all water and mechanical cutters, wet graders and sizers, sliver removal, sorters, ADR\xe2\x80\x99s. \xe2\x80\x8b\\Successful Candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12)
• Minimum of 1 years of experience working as an Operator in a manufacturing company
• Basic computer skills.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Ability to meet heavy physical expectations, including lifting and operating machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solve Problems daily to improve your roles and areas \xe2\x80\x8b
• Set up and Operate PEF, Cutter deck, Wet grading and wet sorting\xe2\x80\x8b
• Set up and operate Co Line sorter\xe2\x80\x8b
• Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping in this area and all workstations\xe2\x80\x8b
• Perform all in line quality testing at regularly defined frequencies (sliver loss, sorter efficiency, cut quality etc.)\xe2\x80\x8b
• Compare and analyze line settings vs. standard work\xe2\x80\x8b
• Utilizing SPC to make adjustments, optimize equipment and answer all alarms (ACC and CAC)\xe2\x80\x8b
• Calibrate and adjust sorters and ADR\xe2\x80\x8b
• Manage cutter heads and blades (inspect cutter heads, rebuild cutter heads if needed, change blades on spindles)\xe2\x80\x8b
• OCU cleaning / sanitizing equipment \xe2\x80\x8b
• Maintain and clean camera lenses on sorters, ADR and lights\xe2\x80\x8b
• Meeting/Exceeding required performance and cost targets (rates, waste, recovery)\xe2\x80\x8b
• Update daily management boards and documents
