Metl-Span, A Division of Nucor Corporation is currently seeking some enthusiastic applicants for the position of Machine Operator for our Hamilton, ON location.

PURPOSE Machine Operator tends automatic or semiautomatic machine and related equipment in a continuous production operation to produce metal insulated panels for commercial construction. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES \xe2\x80\xa2 Demonstrate conduct consistent with Metl-Span\xe2\x80\x99s vision and values \xe2\x80\xa2 Interpret job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences. \xe2\x80\xa2 Operate machines and set feed rates, cutting speeds, stops or guides, depths, applying knowledge of shop mathematics. \xe2\x80\xa2 Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required.

Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities with the equipment to maintenance technician. \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. \xe2\x80\xa2 Operate overhead cranes, conveyors, forklifts, and other mobile equipment \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintains operating records and reports. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure stocks of needed materials are always ready and available.

• Know and understand all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required. \xe2\x80\xa2 Perform daily housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, safe, clutter free work area. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and initiative Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
