Position Overview

As a Machine Operator, you'll be responsible for setting up and operating production and packaging equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Your hands-on experience with capper, filler, and labeler machines will be essential in maintaining efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and program machines based on size, weight, coding, and dating specifications Verify machine setup post-sanitation and ensure accurate functioning of scales and components Perform machine changeovers and general operations as needed Ensure packaging integrity and code accuracy meet safety and quality standards Monitor raw materials and finished goods for quality deviations and report issues promptly Complete documentation including work orders, productivity logs, and downtime reports Execute and adapt to the daily production schedule Conduct quality checks on specifications, packaging, seal integrity, product quality, and code dates Troubleshoot mechanical issues and escalate complex problems to maintenance teams Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and equipment Assist in training new operators and sharing best practices Collaborate with quality assurance and production teams to meet daily output goals Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adhere to HACCP protocols Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements

Experience operating bagger/automation systems Proficiency with capper, filler, and labeler machines Knowledge of food industry regulations and safety standards Ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Excellent communication and teamwork skills Basic mechanical aptitude Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and overtime High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
