POSITION SUMMARY
The
Machine Operator
is directly accountable to the Production Supervisor on the floor and the Operations Manager.
Able to organize, control and prioritize area of responsibility and to carry out to completion on an agreed timetable and to abide by all Vicwest health and safety rules.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Unloads and loads onto/off of trucks
Completes and reviews receiving coil check sheet
Fills out dye lot color verification slip and takes samples and forwards to quality control for approval
Loads and feeds roll former and performs all quality checks as outlined on profile check sheet and records information on this sheet every hour during run
Records total material consumed for top and bottom coil on production sheet
Weighs coils after run and records total weight on coil card and production sheet for inventory
Places completed order sheets on desk for pick up from production control
Embosses coils as required by production control and management and completed embossing coil check sheet and returns information to production control
Maintains a safe and clean working environment
Performs daily cranes inspection check list and reports all safety hazards to supervisor
Completes all safety checks before the start of inspections
Other duties as required
EDUCATION, SKILL, AND KNOWLEDGE:
Grade 12 diploma
ISO quality of standard experience
Operators Crane Certification license
Lift-truck license
High mechanical aptitude
Ability to prioritize and multi-task
Good verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Good problem-solving skills
Ability to lift 40+lbs.
Able to distinguish varying colours
