Noboco Styro Containers is currently looking for a Machine Operator (4th Class Power Engineer) to join our team at our Campbell River plant!

About the role:


As a Machine Operator at Noboco Styro Containers Ltd, you will be involved in the full processing of expandable polystyrene (EPS) products, including raw material handling, pre-expansion, moulding, printing, packaging, warehousing, and shipping, while also maintaining the equipment, tooling, and facilities that support production.

This is an

entry-level

position that provides comprehensive, hands-on training, making it an excellent starting point for individuals looking to build a career in manufacturing and power engineering. Shift Schedule:



Monday - Friday on a 2 week rotating shift schedule (morning, afternoon and graveyard).

Job Duties:



Machine Operations:

Operate and monitor moulding machines, boilers, and pre-expander equipment to produce high-quality EPS products. Perform start-up/shutdown procedures, adjust settings, and minimize downtime.

Equipment Setup & Maintenance:

Set up and adjust production equipment and tooling. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and carry out minor repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

Quality & Production Control:

Inspect, pack, and label moulded products, ensuring they meet established quality standards. Maintain accurate production logs and equipment records.

Warehousing & Logistics:

Safely operate forklifts, handle shipping and receiving tasks, and track product movements and inventory. Secure and transport finished goods and raw materials.

Training & Leadership:

Train and mentor production and warehouse staff in safe, efficient practices. Step into Charge Hand responsibilities when required.

Qualifications:



High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude. Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of production and technical reports. 4th Class or higher Power Engineering Certificate. Ability to maintain a steady pace of physical work requiring agility and coordination. Basic math, planning, organizational, and record-keeping skills. Ability to identify and describe a quality EPS product. Physically capable of handling and gently maneuvering single and multiple product units (fragile materials). Forklift certification. Knowledge and experience in operating all equipment related to EPS product processing. Basic First Aid certification or WorkSafeBC-approved equivalent. Ability to work independently and take on Charge Hand responsibilities when required.
