Position: Machine Operator 2 - Afternoon shift

Our Brampton facility is located at 379 Orenda Road, Brampton, ON L6T 1G6. We are now hiring for a production Machine Operator afternoon shift who is flexible to work overtime and on weekends as required.

WAGE: $19.20 / hour, plus shift premiums of an extra 0.55 cents /hour (applicable between 6pm-12am) and 0.75 cents /hour (applicable between 12am-6am) and benefits.

SHIFT: Afternoon Shift (1pm - 930pm)

Please Note- Shifts are 8.5 hours, but can be 10-12 hour shifts based on need.

Responsibilities:

• Be responsible for equipment set-up, changeovers, and running production lines as needed for various food products.
• Read and follow work orders and specifications to prescribed setup operation(s).
• Ensure proper supply levels of resources for production machinery.
• Ensure line is running properly, paying particular attention to quality.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems, and support preventative maintenance activities to reduce equipment issues and forced production stoppages.
• Any other duties as assigned by Lead Hand or Front Line Leadership Team.

• Provide input to shift action plan for their equipment area.
• Must adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to maintain a clean and sanitized work area with strong GMP focus.

Qualifications:

• Experience operating machinery in a food manufacturing facility is an asset.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling and repetitive movements.
• Ability to identify and communicate any found defects or products not meeting standard.
• Flexibility with working overtime, and on weekends as necessary.
• Quick learner and able to adapt to new skills and methods quickly and easily.
• Work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
• Want to work in a unionized environment.
