Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and diagrams to determine assembly operations. Install major components such as gears, motors etc. Inspect parts, subassemblies and finished product to ensure quality. Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies. Assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts to form subassemblies or finish products using hand and power tools. Fit and assemble prefabricated metal parts to build equipment . Move and align subassemblies and components using lifting devices, such as overhead cranes. Fasten parts together using bolting and riveting equipment or other fastening and joining techniques. Ability to alter, fit and adjust assemblies to meet close tolerances. Visually check parts for imperfections or faulty material parts - report findings to quality department. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures. Keep workspace clean, neat, productive and safe. Perform daily housekeeping. Use all required PPE and notify management immediately when new PPE is required. Others as required.

Experience

Mechanically Inclined. Able to work in a team. Ability to lead a small team of assemblers would be an asset. Attention to detail. Problem solving skills. Excellent blueprint reading skills. Able to perform basic mathematical equations. Forklift and overhead crane certified. Knowledge of a variety of hand tools. Able to lift 50 lbs. Ability to perform repetitive tasks Attentiveness to Health & Safety

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 - 50 per week
