The Microsoft Office (O365/M365) Architect will support applications built on Microsoft Office 365 (including SharePoint, Exchange, Teams, Autopilot, Intune, etc.) and other technology platforms. This includes support and administration of these tools, as well as end-user experience, support, documentation, and training.

  • Lead the planning, design, development and deployment of M365-based solutions; work closely with business areas to recognize the need for various apps within M365 and work on configuration and roll out of the solutions.
  • Identifies and makes recommendations for key process improvements as they relate to the M365 cloud environment; develop and maintain M365 cloud environment documentation; implement and manage the Microsoft Advanced Security Stack to support the Cyber Security Roadmap in conjunction with Senior Cyber Security Analyst and the IT Infrastructure team
  • Develop plans, training, seminars, Q&A sessions and communications materials to support user adoption of M365 solutions.
  • Analyze M365 and Azure performance and evaluate products in order to assess the risks associated with current and future M365 cloud solutions and provide recommendations for optimizing performance and user experience, to the IT Department leadership team
  • Lead the technical teams in planning the releases of new M365 features
  • Monitor and troubleshoot M365 operational and technical issues, liaise with other IT support professionals and Managed Services partners to ensure timely resolution of issues and communicate issues and service disruptions to employees
  • Lead IT project teams to ensure that secure solutions are built to deliver for high level of availability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Serve on the Architectural Review Committee
  • Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate expectations
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships within the organization and industry, the Client Partners and/or stakeholders
  • Advanced knowledge of M365 product suite and Microsoft Azure with a solid understanding of the architecture, features and administration of M365 offerings with design, build and deployment experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Advanced Security Stack (Azure Identity Protection, Azure ATP, Azure MFA, Microsoft Cloud App Security, O365 ATP, Defender ATP, Azure Sentinel).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Teams, Windows 10, Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS services, Microsoft Information Protection solutions (WIP, AIP, labelling, classification, & DLP).
  • Windows 10/11 operating system, server technologies and Active Directory
  • Networking fundamentals and enterprise architecture best practices
  • IT methodologies and procedures
  • Best practices, methods, trends and legislation in information technology

Experience, Qualifications & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience supporting Windows operating system
  • Extensive successful configuration and management experience in Office 365 products (Exchange, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, SharePoint, etc.) as well as Active Directory/Intune policy implementation and troubleshooting
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Active Directory, group policies, M365 security and compliance related technologies (including retention policies), and DNS.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Driven to get work done with limited supervision.
  • Aptitude to learn (keep up with technology evolution and growth) and ability to research to find answers and potential solutions.
  • Proven ability of analyzing M365 usage data to identify issues and usage patterns.
  • Exceptional communication skills, specifically the ability to transform technical concepts and processes into clear, concise, “everyday” language for all audiences.
  • Proven understanding of PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and analyze data
  • Fully applies oneself to the requirements of the position
