Collaborating in real-time with clinical teams and physicians, this position offers essential administrative assistance to optimize the efficiency of healthcare delivery prior to and during the implementation of a new Regional Health Information System. Researching information, updating policies and procedures, attending meetings, liaising with teams, and providing at-the-elbow support during and after implantation are key responsibilities of the Lumeo Virtualized Medical Assistant.Required

  • Possess a post-secondary degree in a medical field such as an international medical degree or Nursing, or a related discipline. Students currently pursuing a post-secondary program in a medical field such as Nursing, or a related discipline may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology, and common medical conditions. Familiarity with medical documentation and terminology used in physician progress notes and diagnostic results including imaging and lab reports.
  • Prior experience in a medical or healthcare setting is beneficial. Familiarity with virtual healthcare platforms and technology is an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with physicians. Ability to communicate medical information accurately and clearly. Proficiency in English is required.
  • Strong attention to detail to accurately research and document medical information and progress notes. Ability to identify and report inconsistencies or errors in medical records.
  • Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
  • A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations. Understanding of PHIPA regulations and the importance of safeguarding sensitive medical information.

  • Research and Analysis: Undertake thorough research to gather current state and changes that will result from the new Regional Health Information System, ensuring the acquisition of accurate data. Interpret and communicate important findings derived from the results effectively and efficiently.
  • Documentation: Accurately document policy, procedure and standard work changes as directed, maintaining the completeness and accuracy of documentation.
  • Real-time Collaboration: Collaborate closely with clinician teams and physicians prior to, during and after implementation, establishing effective communication channels to meet their needs promptly and provide necessary assistance.
  • Utilization of Virtual Technology: Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing virtual healthcare platforms and technology to facilitate seamless communication and efficient exchange of information.
  • Compliance and Confidentiality: Adhere to all relevant privacy regulations, maintaining the utmost confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
  • Other Responsibilities: Perform any additional duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of healthcare services.
