We are looking for a skilled and motivated

Warehouse/Yard Manager

to lead our lumberyard operations. If you are organized, safety-minded, and experienced in managing people and materials in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect fit.

About the Role

As the Yard Manager, you will oversee all warehouse and yard activities, ensuring efficient operations, accurate order fulfillment, and a safe, well-organized work environment. You'll work closely with sales, dispatch, and logistics to keep everything running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily yard and warehouse operations Lead, train, and schedule yard staff Oversee shipping, receiving, loading, and unloading Verify incoming materials and ensure accurate outgoing orders Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and proper stock rotation Organize materials and optimize yard layout for efficient workflow Operate and oversee yard equipment such as forklifts and loaders Ensure compliance with safety procedures and conduct regular safety checks Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free yard Coordinate with sales and customers to resolve issues quickly Communicate operational updates and report discrepancies

Qualifications

Experience in a lumberyard, warehouse, or construction material environment (preferred) Strong leadership and communication skills Knowledge of shipping/receiving and inventory practices Ability to operate or learn forklifts and yard equipment Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure Physically capable of lifting materials and working outdoors Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
