Now Hiring: Lumber Estimator & Engineered Wood Designer

Location: Penner Home Hardware Building Centre, Virgil, ON

Are you ready to join a dynamic, fast-paced team in a busy lumber yard environment? Penner Home Hardware Building Centre is looking for a Lumber Estimator & Engineered Wood Designer to support our growing contractor and customer base.

What You'll Do:

Prepare detailed material estimates for residential, commercial, and agricultural projects.

Design engineered wood floor and roof systems using specialized software. Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications with precision. Work closely with contractors, builders, and homeowners to provide expert product and design recommendations. Collaborate with our sales and yard teams to ensure accurate and timely deliveries. Maintain exceptional customer service while managing multiple projects.
What We're Looking For:

Previous experience in lumber estimating and/or engineered wood design is an asset.

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings. Excellent computer skills (experience with estimating and design software is a plus). Strong customer service focus with the ability to build lasting relationships. Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate in a fast-paced environment. Punctual, dependable, and highly organized with strong attention to detail. Leadership qualities and ambition to grow within the role. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$64,000.00 per year
