SCOC is presently accepting applications for a Registered Practical Nurse Permanent Full Time Day Shift. Hours 09:00-1700hrs. This includes every other weekend and Stat Holidays as per schedule.

Reporting to the Director of Long-Term Care Services, Practical Registered Nurses are responsible for the provision and supervision of resident care, medication administration, and documentation in compliance with regulatory and SCOC Wellness standards, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:



a) Functions as the Home RAI/LTCF Coordinator

b) Relieves the Registered staff to allow them time to complete their LTCF assessments. Will also be required to complete assigned LTCF assessments.

c) Practice the EDEN Philosophy as required by St. Clair O'Connor Community Inc.

d) Ensures the resident's needs are met daily.

e) Provide nursing care according to policies and procedures.

f) Assist in maintaining a physical psycho-social, and spiritual environment conducive to meeting residents' needs.

g) Supervise the care provided by Personal Support Workers.

h) Communicate courteously with residents, families, staff and visitors.

i) Actively involved in own professional growth and development.

j) Actively involved in the management of Infection Control in the Home.

k) Responsible for obtaining and maintaining AIS certification as required by MOH.

L) Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



Must hold current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario

Must hold a Certificate of Drug Administration as approved by the College of Nurses

Must be of good physical and mental Health to perform Nursing duties.

Must be trained to use Point Click Care documentation software or be willing to be trained upon hire.

Must be trained in the InterRAI LTCF process including submission of Assessments to the MOH, must be willing to be trained within 3 months of hire.

Must

Must be trained in Infection Control and be willing to complete the IPAC Canada Infection Control Program within 6 months of hire.

Must be P.I.E.C.E.S trained or willing to do the Course.

Must be vaccinated against Covid-19 and Influenza.
