SCHOOL LOUIS RIEL SCHOOL DIVISION NORBERRY BOARD OFFICE

Payband 7$25.68to $27.98
HOURS:
20 hours per week, 12 months per year
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This customer service oriented professional will provide break and lunch coverage for the full-time Secretary-Receptionist and
assistance in other departments within the Board Office. In covering reception, the incumbent will provide exceptional
reception and clerical services to all staff, students, and visitors who contact or visit the Divisional Board Office. The incumbent
will respond to significant volumes of calls and visitors daily, in a busy office setting while completing various clerical/secretarial
functions. The incumbent must have the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks with tact and diplomacy. They may assist
with food orders, room bookings and attendance tracking for Board Office staff as well as performing other clerical duties at the
Board Office. They may perform clerical, accounting, data entry, or filing functions including using the in-house computer
system (Navision). The incumbent will often work alone and therefore must show initiative and be able to work effectively
independently. They must have the ability to handle difficult situations and demonstrate good problem solving and judgment
skills.
Excellent verbal and written skills in both official languages (English and French) is an asset.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
o
diploma/certificate in secretarial or office administration is an asset
o
strong clerical skills and knowledge of office procedures and systems
o
possess a high degree of initiative, organizational skills, and time management ability
o
strong computer skills including with word processing, spreadsheets and email
o
previous experience using databases preferred; experience with Navision is ideal
o
ability to meet multiple demands in busy office environment with many interruptions
o
should have good public relations and communication skills
o
ability to work as an effective team member and independently
o
knowledge and/or experience with operation of a multi-line telephone system
o
current first aid training is preferred
