Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team on reserve at Alexander First Nations Health Center young adult home. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care in our handicapped young adult home (6 beds). As an LPN, you will play a vital role in supporting patients' health and well-being while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Duties

Provide direct patient care, including administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes in condition to the nursing staff or physician. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and feeding patients. Perform basic laboratory procedures and phlebotomy as needed. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with medical terminology standards. Participate in case management by coordinating patient care plans and follow-up appointments. Support patients with dementia care by providing compassionate interaction and assistance tailored to their needs. Collaborate with healthcare teams in hospitals, nursing homes, or home care settings to ensure comprehensive patient support.

Experience

Previous experience in a long term care setting is preferred but not required. Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory procedures is advantageous. Experience in case management or working within a hospital environment is a plus. A background in providing patient care within nursing homes or specialized dementia care facilities is highly valued. Must possess a valid LPN license in ALBERTA and be committed to ongoing professional development in nursing practices.

Pay: $27.58-$36.13 per hour
