Job Summary
We are seeking a flexible and dedicated
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
to join
#1 Right Care
in Calgary. This is a casual/part-time role that combines nursing supervision, direct client care, and occasional Health Care Aide (HCA) duties. As part of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality, client-centered care while adapting to evolving responsibilities as the company grows.
Schedule:
Casual/Part-Time hours with flexibility to cover day, evening, or weekend shifts as needed
Coverage across multiple Calgary neighborhoods (Walden, New Brighton, Northwest, and others)
Opportunities for the role to expand into additional supervisory or specialized functions
Qualifications:
Active
LPN license in Alberta
(mandatory)
Ability and willingness to perform
HCA duties during coverage times
when required
English proficiency; knowledge of Russian or Farsi is an asset
Previous experience in home care, personal care, or supervisory nursing (preferred)
Police Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Check (required)
Proof of negative TB skin test or medical clearance (required)
First Aid/CPR certification (preferred but not mandatory)
Compassionate, reliable, and adaptable to dynamic client needs
Responsibilities
Provide in-home nursing care and supervision to ensure safe, quality services
Fill in for scheduled shifts when regular caregivers are unavailable
Assist with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing, when required
Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering dignity and respect
Conduct occasional training sessions for caregivers on safe lifts, transfers, and procedures
Support with meal preparation and dietary monitoring when needed
Monitor and administer medication as per scope of practice
Assist with mobility, transfers, and transportation support across client settings
Maintain a safe and hygienic environment in client homes
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery
Flexibly perform
Health Care Aide (HCA) duties
to support continuity of care and client satisfaction
Skills
Strong clinical skills as an LPN with ability to mentor and guide caregivers
Experience in senior care or home care settings is highly desirable
Ability to manage both nursing and HCA responsibilities with professionalism
Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety practices
Familiarity with dementia care techniques and compassionate communication strategies
Confidence with mobility support and heavy lifting when necessary
Excellent interpersonal, teaching, and problem-solving skills
Adaptability to work across different neighborhoods and client preferences
