N.E.G. Inc is a leader in the low voltage industry providing project management and installation solutions. We have been an integral partner in the installation and implementation of Building Systems such as, Low Voltage Cabling, Audio, Visual, BAS (Building Automation Systems), Access Control and CCTV systems.
We are currently looking to add to our Systems Estimating team with the addition of a highly motivated and experienced Estimator to participate in the pursuit of new business opportunities. As Estimator you will be responsible to develop competitive price estimates for the successful award of Building Systems contracts.
To truly excel in this role, you are able to partner and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to gather information to plan the job, evaluate risk and put out a profitable bid. As an experienced Estimator you understand that you are often required to work within tight timeline and manage multiple priorities but with the pressure also come the reward of coming in first!
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABLITY
Prepare low voltage service cost estimates and proposals used to secure new business.
Establish new quotations by understanding job specifications and drawings.
Accurately calculate quantity take-offs from drawings.
Accurately produce material and labour take-offs using multiple software's.
Attend site/tender walkthroughs to cross reference drawings to identify proactive solutions and avoid potential site interferences where required.
Communicate with client to clarify unclear specifications, wording, through RFI's.
Participate in site reviews, tender reviews, tender hand-off, project closing meetings as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma as Electrical Technician/ Electrical Technologist, is an asset.
Minimum 5 years' experience estimating projects combined with related low voltage, Audio Visual, CCTV trade experience required.
Proficient in Bid software's, MS Office and other related computer programs.
Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications.
Strong communication skills both written and oral.
Strong understanding of wiring Building Automation, Low Voltage Cabling, Audio, Visual, Access Control and CCTV, mechanical wiring.
