the Winter Resort Projects Labour Assistant Supervisor is responsible for supervising a crew of up to 6 carrying out a variety of general labour activities.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise a crew of up to 6 laborers
Perform physical labour and assist tradespeople
Erosion and sediment control work
Provides general clean up in work areas
Working in various construction settings, including with and around different types of machinery and equipment
Ensuring safe work sites. You must always wear necessary PPE and encourage safety culture within LLSR staff
May perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's license (or international equivalent) with clean driving record and 3 years of claims-free insurance history (abstract/traffic history report must be provided before commencement of employment)
Must be able to follow direction and delegate tasks to laborers
Previous supervisory experience required
Minimum high school graduation; post-secondary education and/or trades experience considered an asset
Previous construction experience required
Must be able to work independently with little supervision
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and responsible to work with minimal or no supervision
Must be physically fit and capable of lifting/carrying 50 lbs
Must be capable of working outside in extreme weather conditions
Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
Equipment operating experience an asset
First aid certification an asset
Chainsaw training/experience considered an asset
Comfort working with/on ladders considered an asset
Local knowledge of the area and/or resort, along with experience in outdoor environments is preferred
Follow all LLSR policies and procedures
Adhere to LLSR Grooming Policy at all times
A police background check, from your home country or province, will be required upon commencement of employment
Work Schedule:
During the winter construction season you will be expected to work 4 x 10 hour days a week. Schedules may vary throughout your contract.
