Purpose

We are seeking an eager and energetic Long Hole Driller Trainee with a positive attitude to join our Longhole Drilling team and develop their skills and knowledge to contribute to our ongoing development and growth.

Responsibilities include:

  • Train to operate long hole drill efficiently and accurately to drill production holes, slot raises, drop raises, etc.
  • Assist operators to complete other production tasks (hole cleaning, loading, blasting, etc.) as required
  • Take direction from Production Leaders and/or Underground Supervisors in a respectful manner
  • Inspect and operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all times
  • Other duties that may reasonably be required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience and competencies:
  • 1 - 3 years of underground mining experience and/or previous experience operating heavy machinery
  • Previous experience drilling, loading, and blasting beneficial
  • Basic understanding of how to read, understand, and follow engineering prints
  • Possess Ontario Basic Common Core
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Current and valid Driver\'s License preferred
  • A high level of flexibility to adapt to changes as necessitated by the business
  • Possess effective communication skills and be a collaborative team member
Working Conditions

The schedule for this position will consist of 14 days on and 14 days off, 12 hours per day.
