We are seeking a reliable and experienced Canada - US Long Haul Driver(s) and Owner Operators to join our transportation team. Open to experienced teams also.
This role involves operating refrigerated freight safely and efficiently to pick-up and deliver perishable item. Must be able to freely cross the border to US.
The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, knowledge of reefers and cargo securement. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on safety, punctuality, and professionalism. Recent and well maintained equipment.
Employment conditions
Dedicated manual truck.
Each load crosses from / to US.
Must a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident. No International drivers.
Isaac e-log system in every truck
Dashcam in each truck
Paid by mileage, pick-ups, deliveries and border crossing.
Bonus based on performance at quarterly review.
Duties
Safely operate commercial trucks over long-distance routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
Transport freight across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups
Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
No touch freight
Must wear adequate PPE for shipping yard and loading dock access.
Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle records, and documentation for each trip
Report any issues with the truck, reefer or trailer to dispatch immediately.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit
Follow company policies for safety procedures, cargo securement, and regulatory compliance
Skills
Valid AZ or Class 1 with a clean driving record (minimum 3 years).
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
25+ years old
Minimum 1 year US experience (verifiable)
Minimum 1 year experience with Reefer trailers (verifiable)
Knowledge of truck, trailer and reefer operation.
Knowledge of meat and food inspection procedures for load crossing (Canada & US).
Able to validate crucial load paperwork details at pick up, border and delivery.
Strong understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards
Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with GPS systems for route planning
Able to use a smart phone, laptop and printer for emails and scanning.
Good communication skills for coordinating with team members, dispatchers, and clients
Ability to work independently on long-haul routes while maintaining high safety standards
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $1,000.00-$2,000.00 per week
Expected hours: 30 - 70 per week
