Logistics Manager



Position Summary



This is a full-time position, in-person at our office in Dawson Creek.

The Logistics Manager is a member of Mountainview Safety Services Ltd.'s management team responsible for overseeing the Logistics Coordinators and Schedulers while ensuring efficient resource coordination and adherence to company policies. This role also includes managing the onboarding and recruitment of field staff to maintain a qualified and dependable workforce. The Logistics Manager plays a critical role in streamlining operations, maintaining compliance, and fostering effective communication across teams.

Operations



Oversees and manages the Logistics Department's daily activities and ensures the team is working together efficiently to execute delivery of our services to clients.

Ensures alignment with company policies and operational goals.

Provides mentorship, training, and performance evaluations for logistics department.

Addresses escalated concerns from staff or clients and implement solutions to improve workflows.

Develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures for dispatch, scheduling, onboarding, and recruiting operations.

Ensures all logistical and recruitment activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company protocols.

Conducts regular audits and reviews of processes to identify and address inefficiencies

o Reviews and audits dispatch sheets, crew lists, and schedules for accuracy and compliance.

o Ensures field staff are prepared with the necessary resources, training, and equipment for assigned jobs.

o Reviews and audits transportation logistics, vehicle tracking, and lodging arrangements to support operational needs.

o Reviews and audits the track of allocation and usage of vehicles, specialized equipment, and resources.

Communicates job assignments and schedules

Oversees the recruitment process for field staff, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting qualified candidates.

Assists in ensuring the new hire orientation and EH&S orientation are kept up to date and being effectively delivered.

Resolves complaints at the lowest level possible. Escalates complaints that are unresolvable to the Operations Manager.

Assists the Operations Manager in coordinating the daily plan and routes for the Field Support Worker, to ensure efficient travel plans and journey management for stock delivery.

Reporting and Documentation



Maintains accurate records of scheduling, resource allocation, recruitment, and onboarding activities.

Prepares and presents regular reports on logistics, operations and recruitment.

Documents and escalates field staff performance issues for review and resolution by HR Department.

Always remains up to date on our customer's reporting and documentation needs.

Provides weekly KPIs keeping the management team informed of expected performance, industry trends, key customer feedback, and asset utilization.

Business Development



Maintains a strong, seamless working relationship with the Operations Manager ensuring:

o Field and business intelligence is shared

o That new opportunities are explored

o That customer service issues are resolved professionally and thoroughly

Ensures that pricing nuances of a winning contract are understood by the Logistics Departments so that the work can be properly billed.

Meetings



Attends and participates in the Operations Meeting ensuring the Operations Team is efficiently carrying out their duties and meeting our obligations to our clients.

Attends client specific performance meetings (e.g., ConocoPhillips, Petronas, Canbriam, etc.)

Attends projection meetings forecasting expected utilization of assets.

Participates in quarterly field level staff meetings discussing safety, industry trends, overview of company direction in relation to field operations, and addresses previously submitted questions and concerns.

Attends vendor meetings (e.g, BIStrainer, TitanGPS, etc.) and weighs in on the decision-making process for new products and software.

Attends weekly check-in meetings with Operations Manager and VP Operations.

Billing & Payroll



On an as needed basis, supports the Operations Manager in solving any billing questions or field payroll questions.

Safety Incidents



Responsible for ensuring any safety or other incidents are communicated to your Direct Supervisor immediately.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
