Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, this position is responsible for the safe and effective movement of goods and material at the mine site as requested by site departments and contractors via air and seasonal ground transportation. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm.Key responsibilities:

  • Offloading and loading of freight to/from various aircraft types and trucks;
  • Receiving, verifying and unloading incoming materials;
  • Reporting inventory on hand and participating in inventory cycle counts;
  • Organizing material for safe and easy access in the available storage locations;
  • Processing reservations and issuing material to end users;
  • Performing the packing of material and equipment for delivery or backhaul transport;
  • Delivering material requested to departments and contractors;
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organized storage yard/laydown space;
  • Performing various tasks related to aerodrome operations (aircraft de-icing, re-fueling, baggage handling, marshalling, freight handling etc.);
  • Operating various types of equipment such as stand up forklift, counter balance forklift, telehandlers, pickup truck, cube van, tractor trailer, aircraft deicing truck, aircraft refueling truck, loaders and crew bus; and
  • Learning, understanding and complying with all company policies and safety procedures.
This is a site-based position with the rotation being 14 days in / 14 days out.Qualifications
  • Currently residing and legally permitted to work in Canada;
  • High School diploma;
  • Certification and experience operating equipment listed above;
  • Five (5) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working within a warehouse & logistics environment preferably within the mining industry;
  • Five (5) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with passenger & cargo air transport including aircraft refueling & de-icing;
  • Previous experience with winter road trucking operations;
  • Knowledge in inventory management methods and practices;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Superior organization and coordination skills, initiative, professionalism and dependability;
  • Willingness to work shift work;
  • Proven commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental Standards;
  • Experience working at a remote mining site and in a cross-cultural work environment.
Desirable Assets:
  • Knowledge of SAP and MS Office;
  • Experience utilizing barcode technology; and
  • Dangerous good certification for ground (TDG) and air (IATA) freight.
