We currently have exciting opportunities within our Cavendish Farms operations for Supply Chain Student to join our teams in Dieppe, New Brunswick, for the Summer 2024 Work Term.

Cavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head Office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.

Reporting to the Manager of Transportation, the summer student would receive an opportunity to get a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of Cavendish Farms Supply Chain. This includes Planning, Logistics, Customer Service as well as Optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate WH Network capacity/constraint (S&OP-

S&OE vs WH Capacity) * Support the management of CAV Service Level Agreement with Key Business Partners

• Process 3PL shipments/receipts in E1 and resolve orders with issues
• Perform ad hoc analysis, reporting and failure investigation
• Ensure loads are flowing smoothly in Mercury Gate while ensuring that all loads are assigned properly and are in the right statuses
• Work with carriers on competitive rates for spot lanes and working with different departments to resolve any type of issues in a timely manner
• Run open transfer reports, changing dates for loads behind and working very closely with Midland, deployment and customer service to ensure clear communication, proper prioritization and smart plans and execution to support case fill
• Continuous improvement activities

Critical experience gained:

• Understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain logistics through hands on experience and interactions with practitioners
• Plant tour to see our manufacturing process in action
• Warehouse tour to see shipping, receiving and other warehouse processes
