We are looking for:
A Logistics Operator to have individual accountability for site HSE, Quality, Productivity, and Manufacturing Excellence objectives. They will ensure all aspects/standards of the Responsible Care Safety Program are met and fulfilling shipping orders, maintaining account of correct inventories of finished products and unloading/redirecting incoming materials and parts.
The Logistics Operator will follow various North American Warehouse standards outlining proper loading techniques (load pattern, weight limitations, distribution, blocking and bracing), as well as individual customer requirements
We can count on you to:

  • Be responsible for shipment of all Welland Plant packaged finished products to various locations throughout the world.
  • Handle receipt and storage of various packaged finished products from various Solvay locations throughout the world.
  • Select items using SAP from inventory in warehouses to fill shipping orders; crating, repackaging and weighing as required.
  • Inspect, clean and prepare trucks and containers prior to loading.
  • Load trucks, containers following Welland Plant guidelines and North American Warehouse (NAW) procedures for blocking and bracing loads.
  • Affix labels/placards on containers and trucks, affix packing slips and complete loading checklists.
  • Stencil/affix shipping labels on packages and containers as required.
  • Record and maintain shipping information (volumes, lot numbers etc.)
  • Sign shipping documents on behalf of Solvay, complete and distribute shipping documents.
  • Inner plant transport of product samples, weigh samples.
  • Daily servicing of Phosphine production sites( Main, Gases, 300GLR ) including providing packaging( drums, totes, cylinders); packaged raw materials.
  • Store finished products and raw materials in warehouses
  • Sanding, painting of 100gallon Cytop 340 cylinders.
  • Unloading and storage of various packaged raw materials, large items for the Welland Plant Stores and equipment and materials for Maintenance and Engineering.
  • Perform daily inventory counts (cycle counts) of packaged finished products.
  • Assist with formal monthly housekeeping audits and perform daily housekeeping functions.
  • Perform minor repairs as directed by Group Leader.
  • Complete continuous improvement tasks for the department, both physical and procedural improvements as agreed upon and facilitated by the area Manager.

You will bring:
  • Full knowledge of hazardous goods shipping regulations (including TDG, IATA, and IMO), as well as knowledge of WHMIS.
  • Knowledge of product specific handling hazards (ie. Phosphine gas cylinders, and pyrophoric liquid cylinders is required).
  • Excellent communication skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must have ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Requires regular, dependable attendance.
  • Required to regularly work in an office setting.
  • Required to operate machinery.
  • Required to work outside.
