Job Summary:

Black River Logistics Ltd. is seeking a

highly organized and proactive Dispatcher / Logistics Coordinator

with proven experience in coordinating transportation and logistics operations. This role is essential in ensuring smooth dispatching, efficient route planning, and real-time communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes initiative to resolve problems quickly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, and dispatch loads or service calls based on customer needs, driver availability, and geographical considerations. Optimize delivery routes to ensure

on-time delivery

fuel efficiency

, and

cost-effectiveness

. Maintain real-time communication with drivers; manage delays or challenges proactively. Liaise with

internal department

to coordinate logistics effectively. Monitor GPS tracking and transportation systems (e.g.,

GEO TAB

THERMOKING

) to oversee fleet operations. Ensure compliance with

transportation regulations

, safety standards, and company policies. Maintain and update trip logs, dispatch records, schedules, and incident reports. Respond to customer and driver inquiries quickly and professionally. Review logistics data continuously to identify areas for improvement and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

1-2 years

of experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or transportation planning. Strong working knowledge of

TMS, AFM, AEM

, and dispatch software. Familiarity with

GPS tracking systems

(GEO TAB & THERMOKING). Excellent

organizational

,

multitasking

, and

problem-solving

abilities. Clear communication and interpersonal skills to manage both internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a

fast-paced

dispatch environment. Flexibility for variable shifts when required.

High school diploma or GED

is required; a

certificate or degree in logistics/supply chain

is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of

DOT regulations

and transportation safety compliance.

Bilingual abilities

(especially

English/Spanish

or

English/French

) are considered an asset,

but not required
