Verka Food International Ltd. is the largest South Asian food wholesaler in Canada, with over 20 years of experience as a leading importer, distributor, and manufacturer of high-quality Indian ethnic food products. As a national wholesaler, we supply the top largest retailers in Canada along with serving an extensive network of independent ethnic stores across Canada.

We are seeking a

Logistics Coordinator

to join our team who will handle the West side of our operations and help manage the movement, coordination, and documentation of goods efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to ensuring smooth logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities-



Shipping & Scheduling



Coordinate shipments, schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers, and ensure timely transportation of goods. Manage Vendor Portals and communicate with suppliers, vendors, and warehouse teams to confirm delivery dates and resolve delays or discrepancies. Track shipments and provide regular updates to internal teams and customers.

Documentation & Record Keeping



Prepare and maintain shipping documentation, including invoices, packing slips, bills of lading (BOLs), and regularly follow up on proof of deliveries. Maintain organized records of orders, deliveries, and compliance documents. Ensure all records are accurately entered into the logistics management system.

Carrier & Vendor Coordination



Liaise with carriers and logistics providers to obtain shipping quotes, negotiate rates, and ensure cost efficiency. Monitor vendor performance and follow up on missed or delayed shipments. Maintain relationships with transportation and warehousing partners. Create Purchase Orders for local purchasing within Canada and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely supply and delivery.

Compliance & Process Improvement



Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies and customer requirements. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline logistics processes. Regularly review and dispute non-compliance fines, working with carriers and suppliers to minimize infractions. Support compliance audits and resolve delivery or documentation issues.

Qualifications-



1-2 years of experience in logistics or supply chain coordination (food industry experience is an asset). Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of QuickBooks is required. Strong knowledge of shipping, freight, and inventory documentation. Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills. Proficiency with logistics systems, ERP, retailer portals, and Dynamics is an asset.
