Loewen is a manufacturer of high-end quality wood windows and doors designed and built for the premium residential new construction, renovation and restoration segments as well as the distinctive light commercial construction segment throughout Canada, the US and the Caribbean.
Logistics team members have the crucial step of ensuring our product leaves Loewen to travel to our customers. The team ensures that all inbound and outbound orders for customers are scheduled for delivery on time by working closely with select carriers.
We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join the Transportation team at our corporate office in Steinbach, MB.
Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Request quotes, determine and specify most cost-efficient freight routings for inbound/outbound shipments.
• Review and approve monthly Transportation invoices
• Collaborate with Customer Market Services, credit department, purchasing, customers and shipping to schedule outbound shipments and resolve any logistical challenges as they arise
• Ensure Logistics metrics are updated and accurate
• Schedule and coordinate local deliveries and pick-ups
• Prepare shipping documents (including customs documentation), noting special customer requests and driver's legal requirements.
• Communicate trailer requirements and maintain ongoing communication with carriers
• Help locate missing units and file claims with logistic providers on lost or damaged products
• Address customer, driver, carrier and customs inquiries
• Maintain Loewen fleet as required by business needs
• All other duties as assigned

You will bring:

• Proficient in Excel and Word, familiarity with AS400 considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills and accuracy
• Ability to work in a time sensitive environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to multitask

Assets for this role:

• Post secondary education in Transportation or Logistics or equivalent experience
• Experience or knowledge of arranging air, ocean and ground shipments of materials, both domestically and internationally
• Comprehension of contract and shipping law
• Loewen product knowledge
