Logistics Coordinator - Regina

Summary

The logistics coordinator is responsible for rate quoting, third party carrier relations, coordinating and billing of shipments on a daily basis. Many special projects of an entrepreneurial and sales nature will also be included in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide positive and professional service to all customers
• Prepare customer RFP's and project cost estimates using costing data and metrics
• Building and maintaining third party carrier relationships while effectively quoting customers for shipments and long term projects
• Use logistics software system to quote, track, broker and invoice customer orders
• Understand and utilize Gardewine asset based network to drive operational efficiencies across Gardewine operating divisions. (I.E improve backhaul load factors by adding logistics freight)
• Utilize various Microsoft excel spreadsheet features to assess rate data, lane data and create reports summarizing operational and financial metrics
• Work actively with Gardewine dedicated dispatch on coordinating and rating drayage moves to ensure profitability
• Conduct sales and marketing activities when required
• Follow and improve current division standard operating procedures (SOP's) in a team environment
• Support logistics team in the integration of new software system
• Ensure individual revenue and profitability goals which are measured on a monthly basis are achieved
• Participate in all safety initiatives
• Contribute as needed in other tasks that support the department and operational goals
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Successful candidates must have one to two years related experience in trucking / logistics.

Strong computer and software skills are a necessity, with excellent attention to detail. Proven track record of building and sustaining relationship through excellent interpersonal and organizational skill set.

Ability to manage deadlines in a fast paced environment through demonstration of critical thinking to solve unique operational and financial problems.

Flexibility to meet the demanding needs of the business is a requirement.
