Sierra Supply Chain Services is on the search for a Logistics Coordinator to join us at our Mississauga office.

What You will do :
The primary objective of the Logistics Coordinator is to ensure the seamless transportation of meat products across local & international borders, meeting stringent time and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in coordinating container imports of frozen protein into Canada, with exposure to CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) and CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) regulations.
Accountabilities and Detailed Activity:
International Container Coordination (Ocean Freight)
Coordinate all aspects of shipment process, including booking, manifest, Bills of Lading and billing.
Review all shipment documentation to confirm accuracy and perform data input to open file
Ensure all client special instructions are followed
Assist other team members as needed to ensure timely completion of work
Maintain effective relationship with clients and answer general inquiries regarding shipment status
Tracking status with truckers & ocean and air carriers and keeping clients/agents advised of status
Ensure shipments are released in a timely manner by communicating with customs brokers and cargo is delivered in a timely manner.
Logistics Coordination (Truck and Rail) (Can,US,Mex)
Shipment Planning
Coordinate transportation of meat proteins.
Plan shipments from pick up through to delivery for all cross-border truck movements.
Ensure Pick Up and Delivery Appointments are made.
Shipment Tracking & Management
Track shipments and carrier acceptance.
Manage cross border shipping requirements.
Manage the Load Tender process with carriers for acceptance of requirements.
Providing weekly updates to SR leadership team.
Customer Support
Track shipments from pick-up through delivery so that accurate, up-to-date information can be provided to internal customers (Sales, Buyers, etc.).
Work with Inspection Houses and Custom Brokers to clear cross border shipments.
Paperwork & Documentation Management
Audit and approve Freight, Custom Broker, and Inspection House\xe2\x80\x99s invoices
Follow up on client billing and invoicing
Tracking Demurrage Charges

Minimum Requirements: Education and/or Professional Designation:
Supply chain management, particularly the transport function, or equivalent working experience.
Experience:
2-5 years experience (dealing with ocean freight)
Language Skills:
Fluency in English.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of CBSA, CFIA, Customs Clearance
Strong knowledge of Cross Border shipping requirements.
Knowledge of Container holding charges
CP & CN Rail -dispatching rail containers
US to US domestic trucking coordination
Good Understanding of North American Geography.
Knowledge of Load Planning Software (Navision preferred).
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
