PURPOSE: Responsible for actioning items related to co-ordination of logistics and distribution, ensuring product quality is not compromised and that shipped product quality is in keeping with company standards. Liaises with shipping/receiving, inventory, and maintaining accurate parts and quality control. This position will be 70 % hands on assisting shipping/ receiving, coordinating with Plant and shop staffs and 30 % Administrative related tasks. Specific Accountabilities
  • Responsibility for inventory of sheet goods and hardware
  • Maintains ERP system
  • Maintains control over inventory and parts re-stocking
  • Reports inventory discrepancies after conducting root-cause analysis
  • Supervises/gives direction to shipping / receiving personnel
  • Directly actions material movement needs, or performs critical actions to complete partially finished units to make ready for shipping
  • Checks status of material slated for delivery beforehand
  • Labels and tag material and components as required for inter shop movement
  • Liason between shipping and production staff
  • Monitors and tracks finished product and WIP
  • Quality control and rectifying deficiencies
  • Conducts Quality Control Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of millwork components on finished products to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. This includes checking dimensions, materials, finishes, hardware, and overall workmanship.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and work closely with production teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures. Continuously monitor production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize quality.
  • Compliance and Standards: Stay updated with industry regulations, codes, and standards related to millwork and woodworking.
  • Updates inventories, schedules and scopes as directed
  • Sets up deliveries with our logistics partners
  • Operate forklift occasionally, as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good interpersonal skills are required
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to analyze complex problems and formulate solutions
  • Ability to motivate and work within a team environment
Requirements
  • Custom Manufacturing Industry experience required
  • 3+ years Supervisory experience
  • 3+ years Shipping/Receiving experience
