JOB SUMMARY



Reporting to the Logistics Director, the Logistics Coordinator is mainly responsible for distribution in the United States and Canada via ground transportation between our 15 3PL warehouses and our Laval warehouse. He/she assigns and updates HS codes and prepares customs documentation for a smooth passage through customs. He/she also supports the logistics team in various transport tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES



Transport Request Management:



Process transportation requests (bids, orders and transfers). Find carriers, book shipments and track shipped merchandise. Track transportation and return of merchandise for trade shows. Evaluate the cubage of orders to assess the linear footage required for shipping. Create and send BOLs to warehouses. Coordinate communications between customer service, shipping and carriers.

Negotiation and management of carriers:



Find the best rates among our carriers to deliver customer orders (LTL, FTL, and Parcel). Manage the price list and qualify carriers. Verify freight invoices for shipments and resolve billing issues.

Preparation and management of customs documentation:



Assign, validate and update HS, NAFTA and HTS codes in the Epicor system. Prepare customs documentation to ensure a smooth passage through customs. Detect and correct errors in customs declarations. Other related tasks to lend a hand to the logistics team.

REQUIREMENTS, QUALITIES AND SKILLS REQUIRED



AEC in Transportation Logistics - any combination of education and relevant experience will be considered; At least 3 years of experience in ground transportation logistics. Knowledge of transport logistics, customs and warehouses. Efficiency and speed of execution; Rigor and attention to detail; Proactivity, versatility and initiative; Self-taught and good learning ability; Teamwork, communication and collaboration; Recognized problem-solving skills; Organizational skills, priority and emergency management; Ability to calculate the cubic volume of trucks. Spoken and written languages (advanced level): French and English; Computer skills: Excel, Outlook.
