We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive
Logistics Coordinator
to join our operations team. This role plays a key part in keeping our material moving efficiently -- coordinating the outbound export of recycled metals and the inbound delivery of critical maintenance parts.

What You'll Do
Export & Outbound Coordination
Coordinate shipments of scrap metal using container, trucking, and rail transportation
Secure bookings with shipping lines, freight forwarders, trucking carriers, and rail providers
Prepare and review export documentation (BOL, commercial invoices, packing lists, etc.)
Track shipments end-to-end and resolve any delays or challenges
Work closely with yard teams to align shipment schedules
Import & Inbound Logistics
Coordinate imports of maintenance parts and equipment to support facility operations
Work with customs brokers and carriers for clearance and timely delivery
Communicate inbound shipment status to internal teams
Carrier & Vendor Relationships
Maintain relationships with freight forwarders, trucking companies, rail partners, and brokers
Negotiate freight rates and service terms
Monitor carrier performance and address issues proactively
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure compliance with customs, trade, and transportation standards
Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation
Stay current on regulatory changes impacting logistics
Operational Support
Troubleshoot logistics issues (missed cutoffs, delays, equipment shortages, etc.)
Prepare shipment and cost reports
Support cross-functional teams to meet operational timelines
What You Bring
2-4+ years experience in logistics, export/import coordination, or freight operations
Knowledge of container shipping, trucking logistics, and/or rail freight
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Excel and general logistics systems
Highly organized, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple deadlines
Work Environment
Office-based with regular interaction across operations
Some flexibility required to address time-sensitive shipment needs
