The role of Logistics Coordinator is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal teams. You will support the business by handling the logistics and coordinating the transportation aspects of JASCO equipment for both sales and leasing opportunities ensure regulatory and contractual compliance.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with JASCO's internal teams to determine shipping and receiving requirements
Research, gather quotes and recommend optimal shipment modes, analyzing the financial and scheduling impacts of these recommendations
Prepare packages for shipping which can include lifting and packaging equipment of 50+ pounds
Prepare all required shipping documentation to ensure timely delivery while maintaining compliance with all pertinent regulations including but not limited to USMCA/Commercial Invoices, Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS), Proformas
Ensure compliance of export documentation, including the preparation of Export Permits, with the regulations and laws of all the countries where our products are delivered
Receive incoming packages ensuring internal receipt processes are followed
Review import and export procedures to ensure compliance in accordance with legal regulations and internal corporate guidelines
Perform rate negotiations with carriers, freight forwarders and brokers to ensure the highest level of services is achieved
Maintain policies and procedures for logistics activities
Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics, import or export, or customer issues concerning these
Perform all other duties as required
Required Qualifications and Experience
Understanding of Logistics and procurement
Ability to prepare shipping documents including Customs/Commercial Invoices; bills of lading, Manifests or Cargo Control documents, Import/Export Declarations, Certificates of Origin
Ability to interpret government regulations as they pertain to shipping and receiving
Solid computer skills including MS Office suite
Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Ability to read and write in English
Keen attention to detail
Ability to work in a team environment maintaining focus on work quality
Willingness and ability to learn
Strong work ethic, dedicated to getting the job done
Must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Canadian Resident, or have a Valid Canadian Work Permit and have been in Canada for a minimum of 10 years
Must be able to acquire a government security clearance
Previous experience in international shipping and shipping documentation (Brokerage and Freight Forwarding) and corresponding with customs brokerage agencies
Working knowledge of Canadian Customs and other federal laws and regulations
Understanding of Incoterms and Harmonized Tariff Schedule
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with inventory and tracking systems
Dangerous good shipping certification
WHMIS certification
Experience with Industrial Health, Safety and Environment programs
Current Forklift Certification and Driver's license desired
Education
Diploma in Material or Supply Chain Management (desired) or equivalent work experience
