Irving Equipment Limited is a well-established Heavy Lift and Specialized Transport company with a diverse fleet of mobile and crawler cranes, SPMTs, and other specialized transport and lifting equipment with locations in Saint John, New Brunswick, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and several other branches around Atlantic Canada.

We are currently seeking applicants for the position of LOGISTICS COORDINATOR to join our fast-paced, dynamic team in Saint John, New Brunswick.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with our internal and external business teams to ensure operations is running smoothly and risk management plans are developed to avoid disruptions in shipping (Load List, permits, escorts, etc)
• Drive continuous improvements with carriers to avoid Customer disruptions and fines\\\\Support our internal & external business partners as required
• Review booking information verifying accurate pick-up/delivery information and availability
• Negotiate and establish rates with carriers for each job/project
• Negotiate any additional charges with carriers/customers ensuring the accuracy of the information and obtaining appropriate support documentation.
• Ensure that customs clearance is set up and processed correctly.
• Meet customer requirements at every stage of the dispatching process.
• Contact carriers and negotiate needed equipment, service expectations, and rates.
• Resolve service or rate disputes maintaining integrity or reputation.
• Optimize profit margin without compromising service.
• Build strong relationships with the carriers, while monitoring on-time performance.
• Identify areas for improvement and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Understand current industry market conditions and communicate impacts to the business.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred
• Knowledge of the transportation/trucking industry required.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills focusing on teamwork and collaboration within all levels of the business.
• Effective Writing Skills: Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate
• Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• A strong customer service orientation.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-tasking in a fast-paced industry.
• Highly motivated and results-oriented.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient knowledge of computer applications.
• Ability/availability to be on-call is a requirement
• Some travel in Atlantic Canada maybe required
• Field visits, working closely with operations a must
