The Role:



Based on operational need, this position may be based out of Toronto (661 University Avenue) or Etobicoke (81 Resources Road).

To provide services of clinical reports mailing, transportation, facilitation and logistics scheduling to support laboratory operations for PHOL.

Key Responsibilities-



Transport/store incoming gas cylinders and install for use as required and facilitate outgoing gas cylinders from point of use to loading dock according to established safety procedures. Maintains, regularly checks, and replaces empty compressed gases as required by operations. Prepares inventory and stock replenishment documentation for compressed gases. Assemble kits per production schedules. Complete kits assembly transaction in PHO inventory system (i.e. Accpac). Print incoming requisitions from email and collect incoming requisitions from fax machine, validates orders on the requisitions received from internal and external customers. Handles incoming packages and specimens; from courier for internal customers. Facilitate outgoing packages and specimens from internal customers for further courier transport. Maintains requisition records and controls including data entry, and generating of reports as required. Identifies and correlates incoming specimens for further transport/coordination and return of empty specimens packaging to the submitters. Coordinate and complete documentation for cross-docking process of TDG products and clinical samples with existing courier routes. Check and maintain courier records such as ETA, destination POD, cancellation, special pre-approved arrangement. Facilitates waste management and recycling processes by managing bins, preparing transactions for service and contacting vendors for pickup as required. Operates forklifts and other heavy equipment in the performance of work. Perform and record warehouse rolling door safety check. Performs other duties including visual check on warehouse safety, moving furniture, shredding items, temperature reading of fridges and freezers as assigned to meet OLA requirements. Coordinates, maintain, replaces, and completes Biomedical waste pick-up, Chemical waste pick-up, and Shredding bins pick-up. Coordinates and track service requirements and replenishes all MFD (Multi Functional Device) with paper, toners, and maintenance kits. Coordinates, maintains, and attends lab-coats exchange store and process. Coordinate and transport monthly reagent water submission to MOE(Ministry of Environment) from all laboratory sites. Coordinate and transport skids disposal from laboratory site to loading dock. Coordinate and maintain loading dock schedule and service elevators booking for vendors providing services to PHO. Complete end of day tasks to prepare external vendors delivering clinical samples at loading dock outside Logistics office hours. Consolidate all outgoing packages from the lab to send our via courier services. Pick, pack, and deliver microbiological media from MSS(Microbiological Support Services)department in Toronto to all PHO laboratory sites including the laboratories at 661 University. Facilitate and coordinate confidential patients reports storage as per retention policy and VOR (Vendor of Records) arrangements. Processes outgoing mail, clinical test reports, miscellaneous items including sorting, weighing, metering, bagging, etc. for delivery to other facilities, ministries, hospitals, health units, etc. Utilizes a variety of equipment including mail/meter equipment, sealers, folding and inserting machines, labelling equipment for mass mailings. Provides immediate pick-up and delivery of rush, statitems and parcels within the building and by external couriers as required. Responds to all inquiries, telephone, or in-person regarding mail processing and procedures to clients. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills-



Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations and customs documentation, PHOL training and certification in the handling of dangerous goods. Knowledge of PHOL stock keeping procedures and practices to process, maintain and ship supplies and to maintain the stockroom. Knowledge of supply tracking and inventory control including the use of relevant data systems (Sage Accpac). Computer proficiency in the use of database inventory control systems and basic knowledge of MS office Word, Outlook, Avery Wizard, and Excel. Knowledge of relevant Canada Post regulations to process outgoing mail. Knowledge of PHOL mailing procedures and the useof related equipment to process mail, complete forms and operate equipment. Knowledge of correct completion of shipping manifests and related documents. Knowledge of WHMIS to handle toxic substances.

Education and Experience-



High school diploma and certificate to operate forklift and heavy equipment. Minimum 1 years' experience in a similar role.

Attributes and Competencies-



Oral communication and interpersonal skills to arrange rush transport jobs with the PHOL transportation service provider. Oral communication and interpersonal skills to respond to inquiries and status of goods from PHOL central and regional sites. Oral communication skills to advise procurement staff of short shipments and other issues as they arise.

Hours of Work: Full time, 40 hours per week

Salary :$25.53 - $27.35
