Find Furniture Bank (Find) is part of Homeward Trust Holding Company (HTHC) a not-for-profit organization that operates companies in support of the mission of ending homelessness.

Find?is a social enterprise, operating in partnership with Homeward Trust Foundation (HTF) and housing-focused community agencies. Find's goals are to provide essential furnishings free of charge to individuals and families who are moving out of homelessness and to supply low-cost, quality furniture and housewares for sale to the public.

Find's creation has its roots in the realization that access to affordable furniture was a key component in allowing the homeless to be housed, and housing sustainability.

Position Summary



At your core, you should be passionate about helping people. We work with a diverse group of people to help our most vulnerable friends transition out of homelessness and into their new home through the Housing First program and human connection is a must. You are an organized person that loves getting a workout in while you work. You have a great driving record and a firm understanding the roadways in Edmonton and surrounding areas. You take care of your vehicle, can pack a truck and have great attention to detail. You prioritize safety.



Duties and Responsibilities



As a passionate and organized individual with a great driving record, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of the vehicle crew, loading and unloading trucks, and confirming the most effective and economical route. You will prioritize safety, provide great customer service, and have a firm understanding of the roadways in Edmonton and surrounding areas.



This role is responsible for Housing First deliveries, customer deliveries and donor pick-ups, as well as all safety aspects of the vehicle crew in the loading/unloading, securing, and safe operations of the vehicle. This includes but is not limited to:



Providing great customer service. Booking and verifying appointments for donation pick-ups, customer deliveries and Housing First deliveries. Loading and unloading trucks as required. Establishing and confirming the most effective and economical route along with providing a time schedule for the day's requirements. Ensuring all vehicle crew members follow all policies and procedures of Find for vehicle movements, loading-unloading procedures, and client/customer safety.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience



The ideal candidate will have at least 3 to 5 years of commercial driving experience, solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a clear criminal record check. Experience working with vulnerable populations and navigating Edmonton and surrounding areas is an asset. You are also:



with flexibility to work a varied schedule consisting of three full days (7.5 hours each) Able to work in steel toe shoes/boots. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Possess solid analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving. Clear criminal record check. Minimum 3-5 years on a 5-ton truck driver Weekend availability is required
