I. SUMMARY The main responsibility of a Logistics Analyst is to ensure that every link in the supply chain is as cost-effective, productive and efficient as possible. Logistics Analyst job duties can positively impact customer satisfaction and profitability. Some functions that Logistics Analysts monitor include product availability, transportation reliability, inventory control, back orders and fulfillment rates. A logistics analyst is responsible for overseeing the entire life cycle of a product, including purchase, distribution, internal allotment, release and final clearance of resources. A logistics analyst helps their employers enhance performance by determining and reducing inefficiencies that might consume profits. Essentially logistic analyst help streamline operations and identify the best way to use the company\'s resources to achieve its goals. II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure all products and services meet superior performance expectations while achieving all contractual specifications.

  • Management of routings managed through our SAP
  • Freight Rate Quotation Process
  • Routes are created during the rate quotation process that is handled by our Global Logistics Team but when the rates are being provided there is a routing guideline that is entered in SAP for final transmission to our Rail Network through EDI.
  • Data entry in SAP with the rate and routing into Customer Master in SAP
  • Freight Audit - Auditing the invoices based off rate template that is being provided. Obtaining a rate in an Excel Spreadsheet and comparing it to the invoice that has been received and validation for payment processing.
  • Freight Invoice submissions to TBL (obtain from RR website and forward as required)
  • Submit and reconcile disputes for invoicing errors with Rail vendors (through vendor website or email depending on vendor\xe2\x80\x99s process)
  • Coordinate Fleet moves not origination at 402 \xe2\x80\x93 daily
  • Rail payables
  • Review/approval of TC maintenance/repair activities
  • Monthly
  • Rail Demurrage Processing
  • Stat Freight \xe2\x80\x93 which is entering a rate per 100 L or 100 US Gallon rate (Simple Math Requirements and Intermediated Microsoft Excel Use or willingness to learn)
  • Accrual Management obtaining statement of accounts and validation of payments have been processed within 3rd party provider and Petro Canada payments
  • Budget analysis/reconciliation reporting
  • Enablon Incident
  • Fleet sizing as required
  • Tracking and Tracing of Rail Cars
  • Compile and maintain various KPI and other reports as required
  • Supporting Rail dispatcher as required
  • Dispatch vacation coverage (6 weeks/yr)
  • Dispatch coverage (when dispatch assigned to special projects/assignments)
  • Enablon Incident review, investigation and corrective action owner
  • Stewarding and document Track maintenance activities
  • Rail Demurrage dispute Processing
III. QUALIFICATIONS A.\xe2\x80\xafEducation and/or Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Logistics or Business Analytics
  • Or a related field with 5 years of proven experience. Typically, a candidate will need a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, finance or a closely related field to succeed as a Logistics Analyst.
  • An associate degree may be adequate education for a candidate with many years of experience.
  • Proficiency in computer databases, statistic applications and logistics programs
  • Experience in data mining, analysis and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, relational databases and ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g. Inventory planning, warehouse management)
  • Strong analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
  • Class I railway operations
B.\xe2\x80\xafSkills Competencies:
  • Strong quantitative skills.
  • Deep knowledge of logistics and production planning concepts is required along with excellent communication skills and an analytical mind with business acumen.
  • Mathematics: apply good math skills for calculating and conversion work.
