Job Description

Taiga Building Products in Burnaby, BC, is currently seeking a full-time Logistics Administrative Assistant for a 6-month contract position. The successful candidate will report to the Administrator and will primarily be responsible for supporting Logistics needs and functions.

The position will be reviewed after 4 months, with the potential to be converted into a permanent role based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities:



This person would be a member of the Logistics Team with the responsibility to successfully implement Taiga's Logistics needs and functions, including but not limited to:

Coordination of inbound and outbound material using in-house systems (bisTrack, live freight board and insurance database systems). Follow up on the status of booked loads. Staying current with industry trends that will influence the supply, demand and cost related to Taiga's freight requirements. Review and process freight and custom invoices efficiently and accurately. Interact with suppliers, carriers and Taiga operations to maintain a positive and collaborative work environment Liaison between Taiga's accounts payable and truck companies' accounts receivables.

Attributes



Post-secondary education in Business or Administration Strong communication skills - verbal and written; ability to resolve issues promptly Interest various modes of transportation and logistics processes Basic accounting skills Excellent data entry and organizational skills Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment Initiative: assess situations and proactively initiate action independently Resourcefulness: find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties Assertiveness: able to successfully manage confrontation and take a competitive approach to managing Taiga's freight expenses Perform other duties as assigned within role.

Compensation:
