Job Description


The Opportunity Performs a variety of duties required for the preparation of the facility spaces within the Community Knowledge Campus (CKC) preparing them for public use including performing a variety of hands-on work such as equipment set up and take down, minor repairs, cleaning, and maintenance. CKC Logistics Workers work as a team within the guidelines set forth through Occupational Health and Safety, and Alberta Health Services. Maintain the integrity of the campus rules and guidelines and educate guests when necessary. General tidying up of rental areas post rental, i.e., wiping down benches and counters, sweeping floors, and communicating with the custodial team what needs to be deep cleaned.
Responsibilities

  • Monitors daily schedule for bookings, users, classes/programs, and meetings to ensure room and facility are set up, and ready for use.
  • Prepares and organizes daily set up & take down of facility equipment and spaces for drop-in schedules, regular rentals, and special events throughout the CKC campus.
  • Provides proper and necessary equipment to patrons; and ensures equipment is inspected, maintained, and stored correctly.
  • Facilitates birthday parties. Setting up the room, greeting the guests, and providing support during the party including clean up and take down afterward.
  • On-site logistical point of contact for the execution of small to large-scale events, tournaments, swim meets, provincial events, etc.
  • Responsible for last-minute changes for user groups with an ability to problem solve for double bookings, missing equipment, and preparedness of spaces.
  • Evaluate Event Plans for large-scale events and make amendments in collaboration with Supervisor. Onsite designate for User Groups and event bookings.
  • Takes a lead in event planning & logistics, ensuring all customer needs have been realized.
  • Maintains weekly equipment preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Ensuring the CKC Field & Grandstand is prepped, opened, and closed properly for regular rentals, bookings, and special events.
  • Distribution and retrieval of FOBs and keys after rentals from the key drop-off box and ensuring the score clock is left in good order.
  • General tidying up of rental areas post rental, i.e., wiping down benches and counters, sweeping floors, and communicating with the custodial team what needs to be deep cleaned.
  • Prepares and maintains CKC Field & Grandstand for all rentals and scheduled usages, including weekly inspections of facility spaces and equipment.
  • Has a thorough understanding of programs and events occurring in the facility and campus.
  • Monitors patrons for appropriate wristbands and responds to guest inquiries and service requests.
  • Assisting front line with laundry and break coverage.
  • Available as frontline support to encourage guests and members to follow appropriate facility expectations, along with guest and member engagement.
  • May be required to attend emergencies and handle immediate first aid needs.
  • Awareness and maintained expectations of safety regarding facility access and egress points during shift (shovel as needed, salt as needed).

  • Able to perform physical tasks including walking, lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks.


Hours Operational hours are Monday to Friday 5:30am-11:30pm and Saturday & Sunday 7:30am-10:30pm.
Compensation
CUPE Collective Agreement Logistic Worker I Classification ($25.83)
