Log & Wheel Loader Operator - Sort Yard

We are looking for an Equipment Operator to join the BC Eco team at our sort yard in Salmo, BC. POSITION BENEFITS

• $28-30 per hour
• Part-time hours increasing to full-time work when Weighmaster experience attained
• Overtime pay after 8 hours (for full-time employees)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proficiently operate hydraulic log loader and wheel loader
• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner, perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Operate scale for weighing trucks
• Identify various tree species
• Train and study to become ticketed Weighmaster
• Maintain and clean scale sites and infrastructure
• Ensure company policies, core values and culture are being consistently upheld
• Perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

As a member of the BC Eco team, we expect you bring the following to the table:

• Previous experience operating hydraulic log loader with power clam and/or wheel loader
• Experience as a Weighmaster preferred
• Ability to identify various tree species preferred
• Desire to learn and pursue Weighmaster licence
• Mechanical aptitude and capable of performing basic daily equipment maintenance
• Aptitude for numbers and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Physically fit and able to walk uneven ground and site locations
• Motivated self-starter with positive attitude and proven safety record
• Valid Class 5 driver\'s licence
