Position Type / Hours:

Full-Time Permanent, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, 40 hours weekly

Annual Compensation:

$32.86 to $34.85 per hour, as per collective agreement

The Locksmith is responsible for providing locksmith services across all facilities. This includes the installation, maintenance, and repair of locks and associated hardware. The Locksmith works independently, following directions from the Supervisor-Building and Site Services.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:



Repair and maintain locks and closures in all facilities. Install, modify, and repair door hardware including locks, deadbolts, panic hardware, hinges, and door closers. Estimate labor and materials for new installations and repairs. Maintain and audit key inventories; handle master keys and Card Entry systems. Provide expertise on reducing lock sets without compromising security. Keep tools and supplies organized and maintain inventory in lock vehicles. Handle service calls and security system issues. Offer technical advice on door hardware and fire/building code compliance. Maintain records of work performed. Ensure safety and cleanliness of the work area. Install, repair, and rebuild various types of locks. Cut keys and maintain master key systems. Support construction and renovation projects by specifying and installing locking systems. Manage locksmith supplies and inventory. Maintain effective working relationships and contribute to a culturally competent work environment. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:



The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experiences to the role:

High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certificate of Qualification in Locksmithing. Two years of journeyman-level experience in commercial or institutional locksmith services. Valid Ontario G Driver's License. Proficient with current locksmith techniques and tools. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.

The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experiences to the role:



High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate of Apprenticeship and Certificate of Qualification in Locksmithing. Work Environment



Flexible to work across all locations. Required to work some shifts and be on-call
