Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team as a local delivery and pickup driver, traveling within Prince George. Additionally their will be opportunity for out of town pickup and deliveries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of freight.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a commercial truck to transport freight to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of freight. Maintain accurate records, including waybills, gathering Proof of delivery, logs of hours driven and vehicle maintenance. Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road. Adhere to all federal, provincial, and local regulations governing commercial driving. Assist in basic automotive repair and maintenance tasks as needed.

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License). Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols. Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely. Familiarity with vehicle repair techniques is a plus. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members. Attention to detail in maintaining logs, records, and vehicle inspections.
