Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials within a designated local area, ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent driving skills, and the ability to operate various types of vehicles and equipment.

Duties

Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight and materials to designated locations. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transport. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise. Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment as needed for loading and unloading tasks. Assist with basic automotive repairs or maintenance on vehicles when necessary.

Requirements

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required. Experience in freight transportation or logistics is preferred. Proficiency in operating forklifts and heavy equipment is a plus. Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations. Ability to perform basic automotive repair tasks is desirable. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and clients. Must be able to pass background checks as required by company policies. Pay: $24.00-$29.00 per hour
